Isaiah 54 Ministries' Inner Healing Series:

Moral Issues

The word Moral implies conformity to a standard of what is right and good. In our context here it refers primarily, but not exclusively, to sexual and ethical standards. This world would have us think that these standards are subjective. "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." Proverbs14:12 (NKJV)

As Christians our standard for moral living is the word of God. "For I give you good doctrine: do not forsake my law." Proverbs 4:2 (NKJV)

Issues of moral sin are often one of the easiest ways Satan gains entrance to our lives and body. We need to confess and acknowledge the sins of moral rebellion before God and ask to be forgiven. These moral sins give Satan a right to attack and harass us.

People often feel shame from breaking moral laws. Because of this shame, we keep it a secret. Satan uses this secret shame against us in a powerful way. This shame causes us to separate from others and God. It is God's will, that by His mercy, we are restored and brought back to right fellowship. God wants us restored and free from Satan's control.

It is best to confess these moral issues to a trusted, spiritually mature person, not just anyone in the Church. We need to deal with these issues, put them away and go on serving Jesus. The word of God states that what we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:19). As we confess our sins to one another and extend the forgiveness of God towards one another (James 5:16) we are loosed from the sin that so easily ensnares us (Hebrews 12:1). Only through confession, true repentance (turning from our sin) and forgiveness can we find absolution and the power to live a victorious life in Christ.

As God's ministers of reconciliation we are not to uncover our brother's and sister's nakedness to others. We are to follow Christ's example and, through love, cover a multitude of sins. (James 5:20)

"And above all things have fervent love for one another, for 'love will cover a multitude of sins'." 1 Peter 4:8 (NKJV)
